The Sangamon Valley Community Orchestra invites you to Forces of Destiny: Verdi & Tchaikovsky! The Sangamon Valley Community Orchestra closes the 2012-2013 season with its new Music Director and Conductor, Aaron Kaplan on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, LRS Theater. The concert will feature Verdi’s Overture to “La Forza del Destino,” Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme Op. 33 featuring Amy Flores on cello, and Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake Suite Op 20a."

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children under age 10. Tickets can be purchased through the Hoogland Center for the Arts box office by phone at 217.523.2787, or in person at 420 S Sixth St, Springfield, IL. Come out to the Monthly Jam Session on the 3rd Friday of every month. People come from all around to listen to steel guitar, banjo, saxophone, drums, guitar, piano, trumpet, accordion and a ventriloquist. All are welcome to attend. Snacks are provided after the service. Living Rock Assembly Church is located in Peoria Heights at 1208 E. Duryea (1 block west of Prospect). A free-will offering will be taken for Missions. Giving is not a requirement. The church is set up to walk right in. There are no stairs, so we welcome all handicap or elderly people to please attend.
