Fighting Hunger. Feeding Families. That’s what Central Illinois FOOD4ALL is all about - communities serving together to help neighbors in need.

 

During this two-day food drive, you can...

 

-VOLUNTEER at one of the collection sites. Join us on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th at one of 19 area Kroger, Hy-Vee, and Aldi locations! Volunteers will cover 2-hour shifts and serve as greeters, hosts, loaders, and goodwill ambassadors. SIGN UP TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

 

-SHOP and give at your local Kroger, Hy-Vee, or Aldi on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th between 10am and 2pm both days and bring your donated goods to the trucks in the parking lot of the store! Items to shop for:

  • Dry and Boxed Meals
  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Hamburger Helper
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly
  • Breakfast Grains – cereal, oatmeal
  • Canned Goods – vegetables, fruit, meat, meals
  • Dry Goods – pasta, rice, beans
  • Tomato Products – pasta sauce, canned tomatoes

Bridge the Community is the only event in the Sauk Valley Area which features a 5K and 10K option, with courses that take you along the beautiful Rock River in both Sterling and Rock Falls, Illinois – crossing the river twice!

 

The event kicks off with a Kids’ Bridge Dash at 8:30 a.m. with a fun run across the 1st Avenue Bridge.

 

The 5 & 10K takes off at 9:00 a.m. beginning on E. 2nd Street along the Rock Falls riverfront.

 

Come enjoy a morning run and then stick around for the Twin Cities annual Fiesta Days Parade that steps off at Noon.  This 60+ year old tradition in the Sauk Valley crosses the bridge through both communities with a day full of festivities, food and family!

 

Make it a day to Bridge the Community!

All ages are welcome to come enjoy some of your favorite Broadway music to benefit critically ill children in local hospitals.

 

Admission is free, but donations are appreciated and will be used to purchase baskets with age-appropriate items to entertain and inspire children during their hospital stay. Each basket also contains an age-specific Bible.

The 17th Annual Teen Challenge Peoria Fall Fundraising Banquet is being held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Peoria Civic Center Ballroom.

Keynote Speaker is former Secretary of Transportation, The Honorable Ray LaHood. Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis will provide the welcome and Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Jeff Griffin will Emcee the event. Special Music will be performed by the Pops Swing Band and Soloist Logan Everett from Crossroads United Methodist Church.

 

Tickets for the event are $40 each and a Table of Ten is $400. For tickets call or visit online.

Small Wonders Miracle Walk & Silent Auction (Sat. Sep 24, 2016 8:00 am - 12:00 pm)

This is the 10th annual Small Wonders Miracle Walk and Silent Auction benefiting the Children's Hospital of Illinois Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU). Join us as we gather to celebrate, reconnect and remember all of the families who've received care at the Children's Hospital of Illinois NCCU. Last year's walk, organized by patient families, raised more than $71,000 for family programming, educational classes, activities and medical equipment!

 

Participant fees for 2016 include food and fun activities, along with a T-shirt. Visit the website above for more information!
