Home Sweet Home Ministries, in partnership with Trinity Lutheran Church, is hosting a Night in a Car.

 

The Night in a Car experience sheds light on a hidden aspect of homelessness in our community--individuals living in their cars.

 

The event challenges participants to do the same by spending ONE night in their car on February 3rd. We are challenging participants to raise $1,000 per car.

 

Night in a Car is a unique opportunity to face the reality of homelessness first-hand while making an impact on the programs and services Home Sweet Home Ministries provides. Take the challenge and sign up today!

Valentines Weekend Concert!

 

Celebrating their Golden (50th) Anniversary together, the iconic and profoundly influential Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in Country Rock and American Roots Music, continues to add to their legendary status. With multi-­platinum and gold records, strings of top ten hits such as "Fishin'InTheDark" and "Mr.Bojangles," multiple Grammy, IBMA, and CMA Awards and nominations, the band's accolades continue to accumulate. Their groundbreaking "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" album has been inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress as well as the Grammy Hall of Fame. NGDB’s recording of "Mr.Bojangles" was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2014, "Fishin' In the Dark" was certified platinum for digital downloads by the RIAA.

 

Today, NGDB (Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter, John McEuen) continue their non-­stop touring in their 50th year together. Recent tour stops included Stagecoach, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, and many more. The plans for their 50th Anniversary will be extensive! On September 14th, 2015 they played to a sold-out crowd at The Historic Ryman Auditorium with some close friends to film a 50th Anniversary Special which airs on PBS.

 

Watseka Theatre is a 1931, Art Deco, 375-seat theatre located in Central Illinois, 92 miles from Chicago.

The legendary classic rock band Head East has long set the standard for authentic, full-vocal, goodtime rock harmonies that few bands can equal. Their high-energy shows are filled with superb vocals, flashy guitar work, and memorable keyboard melodies that continue to rock audiences of all ages. Their signature song, “THERE’S NEVER BEEN ANY REASON (Save My Life)" has long-been considered by many radio stations across the country as "The Rock & Roll National Anthem." The Vine Conference is a weekend retreat to engage and challenge high school students (grades 9-12) to own their faith and to draw deeper into the Word.

 

Join us as we explore God’s Word through engaging sessions, dynamic worship, interactive breakouts, and much more!

 

Students can expect to leave on Saturday feeling challenged, encouraged, and spurred on in their faith.

 

The Vine Conference is also a great opportunity to get a taste of college life. Conference attendees will stay in the dorms, interact with current LCU students, and spend time with the LCU professors who will be teaching breakout sessions.

 

The Vine Conference 2017 is scheduled for March 31-April 1 on the campus of Lincoln Christian University (LCU). It’s open to all students grades 9-12 who want to learn about the Gospel message and have a blast doing it.
