Judson University Prayer Breakfast (Wed. May 11, 2016 7:30 am - 8:30 am)
This spring, hundreds of community service and business leaders will gather for Judson University’s Community Prayer Breakfast. This year’s theme, “See: Hope,” will be used throughout the morning to remember the importance of seeing hope as we pray for our families, our communities, our nation and our world. This networking and community event will offer you the opportunity to be seen as a community leader and supporter of higher education.

Join us on Saturday morning as we work to clean up the downtown! The downtown belongs to all of us so lend a hand and help us keep it looking great.

Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? Now is your chance! Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center is activating the “bat signal” for all superheroes to join us in our fight against child abuse!
Countless caped crusaders, tall and small, will gather at Lowell Park in Dixon for the 8th annual Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center Champions for Children Walk and we would like YOU to be a part of it!

The cost per participant is $20 for adults 18 and over (before April 22nd)and $10 for youth 17 and under. After April 22nd, registration for adults is $25 and $10 for youth.
This is a fun event that includes a free lunch, face painting, pictures with a superhero, and a costume contest. Check-in on the day of the walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. Early check-in will be available at Shining Star CAC on May 20th from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
So, dig out your costume, dust off your cape, and join us on May 21st!

FUN EDUCATION ADVENTURE Join us for FREE outdoor family activities at the Y. The goal of the event is to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. Families will get to experience traditional and non-traditional outdoor activities, all free of charge. Outdoor Adventure Fest will offer a mix of information centers and activities where guests, and especially kids, can learn to fish in the Y pool, try out archery, play on giant inflatables, or race their parents to the top of a climbing wall. Over 30 activities will be available. In addition to the activities, learning centers will offer critter talks featuring native and zoo animal presentations that run throughout the event.
