This past summer we celebrated the marriage of my oldest son, Stephen, to his new bride, Anna. Both he and Anna were blessed to be raised in stable, Christian homes and with parents who were still married to each other. (Not to mention two sets of grandparents who have been married over a combined 110 years and still serving the Lord!) They were so grateful for this heritage of faith and the examples of godly marriage from their parents, grandparents, and extended family.
But the heritage they received is not a guarantee for a successful marriage. Their choices will determine if they will leave the same legacy for future generations. They have to stay on that path of faithfulness to God and to each other, year after year, to keep the legacy going!
That’s how I feel about WCIC. We look back with gratitude at the spiritual inheritance we have received from the Christ-followers that have come before us. Especially, the pioneers in 1983 that had this crazy vision for gospel-centered Christian radio in Central Illinois. And we’re incredibly grateful for the many generous listeners who invested in that vision and wanted to see their communities impacted by Jesus, our Living Hope.
What a legacy of faith they have left us! Thanks to them,we can celebrate over 40 years of Hope in Jesus and community transformation. 40 years of trusting in God’s provision.
But it doesn’t stop there! We are so excited to partner with you to continue that legacy for those who come after us by keeping WCIC strong for another 40 years.
